The ability to see the speaker and assess patient understanding can be important. Telephonic interpreters are unable to make these judgments and they cannot provide additional services like office acclamation, filling out forms, scheduling appointments.
Video-Interpreting can address these issues. Video interpreting is remote interpreting using a webcam and software.  It allows the interpreter, dentist and patient to see one another.
